This is a big week for YUMT...competition, demo week for new session, and Iowa.
This is a time when we need to stand strong and properly, both in representing ourselves as individuals and as a group. Nothing is perfect, ideal or stagnant, but we must do the best we can to stay strong and give hope for the future students in our sport. Training without a desire for personal growth is starved of meaning.
We're starting to do big things...getting our fighters more fights, crossing the border for the first time and putting our name out there. It's going to take all of us to uphold the integrity of our gym.

Runathon Only a Week Away! & a Review of this weekend's Demo
Our Runathon (15k) is only a week away! On Saturday May 16th, be ready to get some major shinsplints and earn those pledges! Updates on the route and such will be posted soon. Also, be sure to check the event information on facebook or the blog if you need a reminder on the details we already have.
A huge thanks to Kru Jen, Poochoi Lindor, Poochoi Brian, Arash, Niloo, Serge and Scott for making it out to represent us at the demo on May 9th in Tait's gymnasium. It was a smaller crowd than we anticipated, but the show went on with demo's of the ram muay, pads and sparring.
Pictures were taken by the Excalibur newspaper staff...so if and when those surface I'll be sure to post them up.

We'll be doing a demo (technique, sparring, pads etc) in Tait (the gymnasium) on May 9th from 1 till 2:30.
If you are interested in helping out in any way, please contact Kru directly. Your best bet may be to msg her on Facebook and add myself, Poochoi Lindor and Poochoi Brian on the recipient list (so we are all in the loop of what's going on).

Weekend Review: YUMT and Nic Repping MuayThai
Friday, May 1st:
A shout out goes to: Poochoi Lindor, Niloo, Arash, Kari, Poochoi Brian and Leo for repping us at the York Athletic Banquet.
Team YUMT organized and performed demonstrations of the Ram Muay, pads and technical sparring. They did a wonderful job of getting Muay Thai out there to the masses and repping our group.
Click on the pic below to see some photo's from Arash's phone:
Saturday May 2nd:
Kru Jen flew out with Nic Du Preez for his fight in B.C.
Word is that Nic performed incredibly, and fought hard. A huge congratulations to him. Nic's worked very hard to have progressed to where he is and definitely deserves it. We know he'll go on to do even greater things.
I don't want to post too much on his fight or the result, especially since I don't really know the details. So ask Kru or Nic himself, and maybe I'll post an update with their permission for those of you who won't have a chance to speak with either of them.
Same goes for pics...I'll have to ask to see if I can post some.
That's about it from this action packed weekend. For any details, ask the right people in class.
