Bowling this Saturday March 29th!

Make it out on Saturday to bowl with us! It's yearly tradition for us to hit the lanes and unwind.

This year we're aiming for 4 teams min (5 or 6 ppl per team).

An Elbow Master: Karuhat Sor Supawan vs Lamnamoon Sor Sumalee (video)

As elbow month comes to a close, it's only fitting that we post a master of this incredible technique for you to enjoy and learn from.

Karuhat (pink shorts) was one of the best fighters, period. However, he was an ace with those elbows and knew the range so well that he could almost land them at will. Here, you can watch him fight Lamnamoon (blue), who was known for his knees. In this case, Karuhat used his other weapons (such as the teep) to keep Lamnamoon at bay and then closed the distance for an elbow when the time was right.

As well, Karuhat did not often venture far from the straight (cross) elbow or the upper cut elbow (tad mala). He used these basic tools with such precision, balance and timing that he didn't need to use any fancy technique. It's all in the execution.

Kru Day celebration Recap

YMT had an amazing turn out Saturday night. We gathered to honour the teachers of our art, and show our appreciation for the hard work and love. As a student of the gym, it is my privelege to say that Kru Jen is my instructor and that the PC assistants we have are some of the most dedicated people I've met.

In addition to speeches and celebration, we also had exhibition bouts between athletes of our family gyms to pay our respects to Muay Thai the way we know best. Sam, PC Cam and Roman all stepped up to the ring to represent and made our team proud.

They were cheered on by an amazing chorus of support and really showed the community how much we care about each other. Last but not least, Kru Jen's students from York University's Muay Thai program also showed up in style, joining our already fun loving and hard working group.
