York Muay Thai would like to thank Ken Sylvan for a great seminar on Nutrition, Training and opening up our knowledge to being effective athletes.
One thing Ken talked about was that at 4 weeks out (or 4 weeks until an event), you can't really build too much with your performance; You are pretty much at the point where you are working with what you got.
So for our advanced guys, you need to be training hard or at least consistently if you want to be able to participate in sparfests or fights. It's something we've been telling you all the time: you need to work if you want something, especially at the advanced levels. Now you have another perspective on this: you will end up shooting yourself in the foot as far as maximizing your performance if you're not working.
For everyone else, if you're looking to work your way up, or test, this is also important.

Kem Sitsongpeenong vs Fabio Pinca
Watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoS-oaIDeTQ
Fabio has fought many big names, including Attachai Fairtex, Bovy Sor Udomson and...Saenchai Sor Kingstar.
I've mentioned Kem before. He is one of the rising stars in Thailand at 67-70 kg. Like most of the internationally well known Thai's, Kem made his way up at the lighter weights in Thailand and then started picking up more fights at the internationally popular 70kg weight class.
I don't know what weight this fight was at though. I was under the impression Fabio was lighter than Kem

Here's Kaew now with Lerdsila. This was obviously taken from the crowd, but you still get a decent view of the action. Enjoy this back and forth technical bout!
*Spoiler*
I don't see the lil guy winning very often, but damn he has sick skills. Ah well...

Lerdsila Chumpairtour vs Yodbuangarm Lookbaanyai (Video)
Watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0BhLsWzLsc
Lerdsilla Chumpairtour is a tricky little bugger, and a former Raja champ. Of the modern fighters out there, he has become one of my favourite. If you think you've seen fighters skilled at slipping, you haven't seen Lerdsila. No one lands a head kick on this guy. Lerdsila also has a very mean teep. He is very much a counter fighter.
He also comes in smaller than most of his opponents (or at least shorter)...always a plus in my book.
Yodbuangarm is currently ranked pretty high in Lumpinee and Thailand overall; just a bit higher than Lertsila. Both are top dogs on the Thai circuits right now.
For those of you new to watching MT, you may not be able to appreciate the pace and the strength of the techniques going on here...but trust me, there's a ton of skill and timing being applied in this fight. Those of you who have been with us for a while, enjoy!

Superlek is a hard little puncher who has slugged it out with many greats. I haven't ever seen Neungsiam fight before.
Superlek is in the red by the way

Caught Between a Rock and a Hard Place
Here's a very small write up on Somsak Srichan...a former Thai champion in boxing, now homeless and on the street begging.

Andrei Kulebin vs Sudsakorn (Video)
If you aren't used to watching Thai boxing chess, this fight may bore you a bit. Andrei Kulebin is one of the most experienced non Thai's in the world..I think he has over 100 fights total.
He like to set a very slow but even pace, and pick his techniques very carefully.
Here he gets to play his game of chess with Sudsakorn, a Thai known for being tricky.
If you aren't at the point where analyzing these slower more technical fights make you wet your pants, then go to part 2 for a surprise ending.

Lamsongkram Chuwattana vs Yohan Lidon 1 (Video)
I posted a fight recently between Lamsongkram and Yohan that ended in an aburpt knockout. This video contains their very first fight a few years ago.
At this time, Lamsongkram already had the WBC MT world title.
It's a technical battle between two styles
